The Chicken or The Egg?

Here on the farm, Neris tends to her flock of 20 chickens, mostly hens, but a few roosters to help stand guard on the days they are allowed to free roam. We do live very nearby a bald eagle's nest so extra diligence is required on everyone's part. The chickens are all heritage breeds and lay a great variety of egg colors ranging from soft tan to blue, green and even one brown with dark brown spots. I'll let Neris tell you more about her flock in another post. Here is an image a customer sent us of eggs she dyed for Easter, using only natural ingredients such as onion skins to get her great colors.
